The pre-finishing rolling unit of high speed wire mill can reduce the rolling accident and improve the size accuracy of finished wire. Therefore, the principle of selecting the roll material for the pre-finishing rolling unit should be that the roll used for the unit can play the role of connecting the past and the future, and the wear resistance of the roll should be taken as the main good basis.

Foreign high-speed wire rolling mill choose a wide range of pre-finishing rolling unit ring materials, some manufacturers use tungsten carbide carbide roller ring, although the wear resistance is very good, but the strength is low, there will be fracture phenomenon. The centrifugal composite ring and high speed steel rolling have 3 times higher wear resistance than high nickel-chromium-platinum infinite cold hard cast iron, higher strength than tungsten carbide carbide roll ring, and the price is lower. Therefore, centrifugal composite roll ring and high speed steel roll will be the preferred material for roll or roll ring in the future.
